Automations & MCP Tools

Run actions when a recording finishes, and connect external tools.

Automations

Automations run actions automatically when a recording reaches a certain state. Create one under Automations:

  • Trigger — Summary generated, Recording saved, Transcript finalized, or Recording imported (optionally also fire on regenerate).
  • Conditions — narrow when the rule applies.
  • Actions — Copy to a folder, or Send email.
  • Artifacts — choose what to include: Summary, Transcript, Recap, Mind map, Audio file, Video file, in the formats you pick.

Email actions support to/cc, subject, body (with template variables), and attachments. Every run is recorded in the audit log, with a run history per automation.

MCP Tools

The MCP Tools page connects external tools and agents to RecorderDesk over MCP (Model Context Protocol):

  • Built-in tools are available out of the box.
  • Custom servers — register your own by name, command, and arguments; enable/disable each.
  • Test handshake verifies a server connects and lists its discovered tools.
  • • An agentic mode lets connected tools take actions on your behalf.
Connected tools can ground the live assistant and Ask AI. Every tool action is written to the audit trail, so outbound activity stays inspectable — see Privacy & Audit Log.
